The San Francisco Chinese consulate has been taking longer than usual to approve online visa applications. On average it has taken 5 business days for the consulate to approve the application. However, right now, recent cases are still under review after 8+ business days. We are hoping the SF consulate is back on track soon, but this is affecting turnaround times for SF Chinese visa services.
If you have upcoming travel to China that requires a visa, please apply immediately and be aware that the turnaround time is longer than usual. With the upcoming closure of the Chinese consulate for the Spring Festival, we foresee delays for the month of February. Other consular jurisdictions are operating as normal at this time.
